Implement Speed of Service as a Key Performance Indicator in Service Ontario

The Issue

I am an Ontarian who, like many others, feels that the public services provided by Service Ontario are not meeting the needs of the public in a timely manner. Our experiences with long wait times and slow processing have led us to believe that there is room for improvement in how these services are delivered.

Service Ontario plays a critical role in our lives, providing essential services such as health card renewals, driver's license applications and updates, vehicle registration and more. However, despite its importance, many Ontarians find themselves frustrated with the speed at which these services are delivered.

In order to address this issue effectively and improve client satisfaction levels across the province, we propose that Service Ontario should add 'Speed of Service' as one of their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). KPIs are commonly used across various industries to measure performance against strategic goals. By including 'Speed of Service' as a KPI, it would provide a clear metric for measuring service delivery speed and would encourage ongoing improvements.

According to data from Statistics Canada (2019), over 14 million people depend on these vital services provided by Service Ontario. It is therefore crucial that this organization operates efficiently to meet our needs promptly.
