Every winter I watch, as vehicles speed down Willow Street Hill, lose control and crash into my home which then required an insurance Claim and others.  My grandmother once narrowly missed being hit, saved by a mere foot of distance when a car slid helplessly in the snow. The piercing sound of screeching tires as vehicles round the bend in the summer is an ominous reminder of the danger this street poses. I now have a beautiful little girl who is 7 months old and there would be no way for her to play on my front yard or even be out there without being worried about the cars flying by my home. 

This is no longer a statistic for me; this road has become a life-threatening hazard for those living on it and those around it. Numerous accidents have occurred here, with many close calls. The reckless speed inducible by the downhill slope and neglect, or sheer ignorance of the road's slippery condition, particularly in winter, are putting lives in danger.

Therefore, I am calling for the city to take immediate action to make the road safer. The installation of speed bumps and rumble strips (also known as sleep lines or alert strips) could drastically mitigate the risks. They will force drivers to reduce their speed, thus preventing the accidents that have become all too frequent.
There is being a re-paving on the hill Oct 2-4th and this would be a perfect time to install  something to make this hill SAFER.
