After Washoe County built a drainage ditch (a trench filled with sharp rocks) around Rivermount Park to alleviate flooding, it became hazardous to cross into the park on the north side. Our neighbor, John, had a bridge constructed for elderly people and those of us with special needs. It turned out to be extremely helpful for the whole park community.

Washoe County Park staff has insisted on the removal of the bridge because it is not park property. Walking to the north end of the park is not a good solution because there is no safe place to walk. If we can't have the bridge, we would like to see Washoe County Park officials create a safe way to cross.  The bridge will be dismantled and disposed of if it is not removed by March 31, 2024.
