Implement Residential Parking Permits for Residents in Bowden, Adelaide

The issue

As a resident of Bowden living in a property with only one garage, I represent many others facing similar inconveniences due to the current parking policies. My brother and I both own vehicles but our circumstances mean one car has to remain parked on the street. With a two-hour time limit that continues to result in an accumulation of fines, it's a consistent source of stress that my fellow Bowdenites and I confront on a daily basis.

Our streets have insufficient parking spaces, due in part to an influx of visitors and businesses. Without options for reserved residential parking, we often face the struggle of finding available and legal parking spaces.

The Adelaide City Council has successfully implemented a residential parking permit system in other areas, favourably accommodating residents over visitors for on-street parking spaces. It is both sensible and necessary that Bowden, faced with similar issues, should also benefit from this arrangement.

By granting residential parking permits to residents of Bowden, the City of Adelaide would alleviate the continuous stress we contend with, enabling a better quality of life, and a fair balance between accommodating residents and visitors’ parking needs.

We, the residents of Bowden, request the Charles Sturt City Council to review and modify the existing parking policy. Implement residential parking permits and contribute to a more harmonious living environment for Bowden’s residents. Please, sign this petition to advocate for the implementation of residential parking permits in Bowden.
