Amid escalating tensions and the looming threat of war with Israel, the safety and well-being of students in Lebanon are at risk. Going outside to attend classes has become an unpredictable and dangerous task. Bringing education into the safety of homes through remote classes has shown effectiveness and adaptability around the world amid the Covid-19 pandemic. A study by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) revealed that in 2020, approximately 1.5 billion students in 190 countries were engaged in remote learning. This proves that remote learning can effectively adapt to challenging circumstances while ensuring continuous access to quality education. We must prioritize the safety of our students. Let's urge the educational authorities to transition from traditional in-person teaching to remote formal education during periods of hostility. Sign this petition to urge Lebanese Academic institutions to implement remote education for our students' safety.
