When we think about our lives and our health, we often reflect on what we eat, how we move, and the air we breathe. We don't always pay attention (Image) to the less visible dangers lurking (Steering Wheel) in our environment, like mold. This is a deeply personal issue for me, and it comes from a place of witnessing the devastating, often overlooked health effects that mold can bring.

At present, (With OUR Research) there is no legal requirement to test and document the presence of mold in public settings. Without the establishment of such guideline, the appropriate medication can't be distributed if people don't know what made them sick before the mold is eliminated. Elimination, however is also invalid, as the soil is our food insurance, in symbiotic nutrient sharing. Beyond being a nuisance, mold exposure can cause a variety of health issues, from asthma symptoms to various types of infections. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), exposure to damp and moldy environments may cause a variety of health effects, or none at all. Some people are sensitive to molds, and prolonged exposure can lead to severe symptoms and illness.

By establishing an ordinance code enforcing the testing and documentation of mold, we stand for a healthier future for all of us. Without detection, there can be no intervention. This can serve as a preventive solution, allowing antibiotics to be properly utilized and reducing the widespread, unchecked damage that unnoticed mold can cause.

We are one community, interconnected and interdependent in ways we often don't see. We owe it to each other to fight for regulations that prioritize not just our individual health, but our collective wellbeing.
