Many women have fallen prey to religious brainwashing and lost themselves completely. The most alarming thing is that even the well-informed fall prey. 

Most of you might remember Esther Arunga. A brilliant lady who was at the height of her career in media that ended up throwing it all away for The Finger of God Ministries. The misfortunes that followed her irk to the core!

Recently, the Lynn Ngugi Show featured a number of women who shared their disheartening tales of brainwash and manipulation from rogue "men/women of God". Among these women was Martha Rena, a gospel minister who was manipulated by a prophetess into marrying a brother in the church who apparently was the "will of God" for her. It should be remembered that Martha was set to marry a man she was in love with, but according to the prophetess, "God" did not approve of him.

Martha ended up blocking anybody who tried to hit sense in her head because when "God" speaks, we listen and obey! So, she lived through a sham of a marriage and ended up divorced and depressed. Because of the divorce the church wanted/wants nothing to do with her because she is/was a bad example (God hates divorce). Martha is now working on herself, and she is on a mission to empower other women to not fall victim. 

You and I know so many Esthers and Marthas out there, or perhaps we are the victims. Question is, for how long shall we stay silent as more women are preyed on? For how long shall we tolerate this grave injustice?
