Implement Marks Abuse Offenders Registration for Animal Abusers

Implement Marks Abuse Offenders Registration for Animal Abusers
The Issue
Back in 2007, Ohio sex offender Ben Deangelo brutally abused Mark, a six month old Beagle puppy that he had purchased. Deangelo inhumanely treated Mark, yelling at him, chaining him, and confining him in a cage for regular puppy behaviors, all because he did not want to put in the effort to train or properly care for the dog. To make matters even more horrifying, this man was also my abuser. In 1996, he was one of four men who stood before the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas in Elyria, Ohio, for raping me.
This disturbing incidence is the motivation behind this petition "Marks Abuse Offenders Registration". The primary goal of this petition is to implement a system where animal abuse offenders are registered akin to how sex offenders are registered. This would be an instrumental step in preventing further animal abuse cases and sending a strong message to society about the severity of such heinous crimes.
By now, this petition has gained the support of over 500 advocates who have bravely put their signatures on it. However, the road ahead is long and tough. We need every possible support to make this proposed registration a reality, and we start by requesting Representative Marcy Kepture, whom I assisted during her 2016 campaign, to stand with us.
Such a registration system is critical to ensuring the safety of our innocent, voiceless animals, to deterring abusers, and enhancing our justice system. Let us work together to protect the Marks of our society that fall victim to such abuse. Please sign this petition urging lawmakers to implement Marks Abuse Offenders Registration for Animal Abusers. Together, let's keep our beloved animals safe.
