Implement Late Fees For Harris Teeter's Curbside Pickup Service!
The Issue
For privacy reasons, I will not be using my real name.
I am an Expresslane employee at my local Harris Teeter, and we have consistently had issues with customers not picking up their orders in line with their chosen timeslots, as well as not contacting us to let us know about any complications. I and my coworkers, as well as other customers who use our service, all agree that late or no-show fees should be put in place to discourage customers from showing up late without calling ahead.
On top of this, discussions have created agreements that repeat offenders should be blacklisted from the Harris Teeter Pickup service. If a customer does not pick up their order on time multiple times without calling ahead, they should be blacklisted from using the service.
I, as an employee and frequent customer of the store I work at, would not be making this petition if I did not have reason to believe it was necessary. This is an issue that has gone on since the service was started, and one that is long overdue for rectification. Previously, we only had to work until 7:30 before customers began complaining about not receiving their orders, and the working hours were pushed to 8:00. I don't believe it is fair for the employees to have to suffer consequences for the error of our customers.
