The Issue

As someone who has explored the breathtaking landscapes of the United States, traversed 18 states, visited 9 National Parks, and 9 State Parks/Memorials around this magnificent country, I am advocating for all military veterans and retirees like myself. On a personal journey driven by the spirit of exploration and limited by a fixed income budget, I experienced firsthand the generosity of a number of State Parks which offered free land passes for veterans. The Gold Star/Veteran National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass became a vital tool in my journey, eliminating financial hurdle in visiting the National Parks.

I am calling upon this generosity to be extended to all State Parks because military veterans and retirees have served and protected our nation's land, they deserve unrestricted access to appreciate the beauty they once vowed to defend. According to “The Military Wallet”, more than 18 million veterans are living in the United States, many of them on fixed incomes like myself. That number doesn't even account for the great number of retirees who have contributed to society and deserve to enjoy their golden years without financial barriers to Nature's bounty.

Let's ensure our veterans and retirees have the ability to experience the glory of our landscapes without financial obstacles. Join me to request all State Parks in the United States to implement free access to all military veterans and retirees. This small act of gratitude will contribute to honoring their service and enhancing their life quality. Please sign this petition and help provide our veterans and retirees the appreciation they rightfully deserve.
