Implement Educational Workshops for the Gypsy Roma Traveller Community

The Issue

I am a young woman from the traveller community, and I understand firsthand how crucial it is to know how to access resources and understand our legal rights. The Gypsy Roma Traveller (GRT) community in England is one of the most marginalized groups, often facing barriers in accessing education and understanding their legal rights.

According to a report by Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT), only 13% of GRT pupils achieve GCSEs compared to 64% of their peers. This stark disparity highlights the urgent need for educational workshops tailored specifically towards our unique needs.

These workshops would not only provide us with essential knowledge but also empower us to become active participants in society. By understanding our rights, we can better advocate for ourselves and our communities. Furthermore, these workshops could help bridge cultural gaps between the GRT community and wider society by fostering mutual respect and understanding.

My colleagues and I  are working on a project so we can provide  educational workshops to sites , churches , fairs and conventions! but we need as many signatures as we can to get our project going!

please sign and support ! I need support from the community !

Please sign this petition if you believe that everyone deserves access to education that respects their culture while equipping them with necessary skills for life beyond school.
