Implement Dark Mode Feature in BigQuery Platform
Implement Dark Mode Feature in BigQuery Platform
The issue
I use BigQuery every day. It's a critical part of my work and many others' around the world. But every day, my eyes hurt from the incessant brightness of the user interface. Like thousands of others, I am calling for the implementation of a Dark Mode feature on BigQuery.
BigQuery is a powerful tool that allows us to manage and analyse vast amounts of data. But its impact is lessened when we consider the strain on our eyes from prolonged exposure to its stark whiteness. Darkness can provide a relief, an oasis for our tired eyes which are otherwise confronted with the glaring white light of our screens. By adopting Dark Mode, we not only enhance user experiences but it also aims to prevent potential health issues like digital eye strain, which affects over 50% of digital device users, according to the American Optometric Association.
The benefits, we believe, are clear. Google, the parent company of BigQuery, has implemented dark mode for many of its services already, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Chrome. Why not BigQuery?
We are not asking for a major revamp of system functionalities or a complete redesign of the interface. We are simply asking for a feature that caters to the comfort of its users. We believe that it is a minimal requirement from a platform we rely on daily.
It is from seeing the comfort it has given to other Google service users, and the personal pains the current design inflicts on us that we initiate this call. The introduction of dark mode to BigQuery will not only be a victory for our hurting eyes, but also a step forward in creating a user-friendly, health-conscious digital world. Join us in urging this change. Sign our petition to bring Dark Mode to BigQuery!
