Hi all,
Long time no hear. I have set a new e-petition on the Queensland Parliament website titled "4563-26 Request for parliamentary committee inquiry into citizen-initiated referendums". I know that previous CIR petitions to this Parliament have been unsuccessful, but this one is different. Instead of outright demanding CIRs to introduced, it calls for Legislative Assembly to refer the idea to a parliamentary committee for inquiry into its feasibility. This inquiry would include discussion on how to implement CIRs in at the state level, public consultation, and a publicly available report on its findings and recommendations.
If you live in Queensland or know people who do, please sign and/or share. I have already sent out messages to several political parties requesting their support in my endeavour. It has gathered over 325 signatures in under 24 hours and will remain open until December 1st, 2026.

I'll keep you updated. I haven't given up just yet. We will persevere. And we will keep fighting for our mutual goal.
Regards,
Noah
