We play at Hesperia Community Park, and several of my friends’ kids play rec league games there too. It’s a hub for our community — but every winter, rain turns the fields to mud, causing cancelled and relocated games for weeks at a time. Even after the rain clears, the grass doesn’t fully recover, leaving uneven, hazardous surfaces that stick around into the next season.

Artificial turf would fix this. A consistent, all-weather surface means far fewer injuries from bad footing and uneven ground — for adult softball and baseball leagues alike. It also means games don’t get cancelled or moved, and practice time isn’t lost to mud season.

Hesperia Community Park is uniquely positioned for this investment: with 4 fields on site, it’s the best location in our community to host local and regional tournaments, bringing more visibility and activity to Hesperia.

We’re asking the Hesperia Recreation and Park District Board to convert the fields at Hesperia Community Park to artificial turf — for safer play, more reliable scheduling, and a facility our community can be proud to host tournaments at.
