My child, like many others in Natick MA is being harassed daily due to their gender identity. This is occurring at Wilson Middle School. This is not an isolated incident but a widespread issue affecting numerous students within our community. It's time we take a stand for the rights of all children and ensure they can attend school without fear of bullying or harassment.

According to the National School Climate Survey conducted by GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), 70% of LGBTQ+ students report being verbally harassed at school due to their sexual orientation and more than half because of their gender expression. This is not just a statistic; this is happening right here in our schools in Natick.

We call on the local school board and administrators to implement comprehensive anti-bullying policies that specifically protect LGBTQ+ students. These policies should include training for staff on how to handle incidents of bullying and harassment effectively and sensitively while providing support resources for affected students.
