As a concerned parent, I have witnessed the distressing impact of bullying on our children at Wilson Middle School in Newark, OH. Many students do not feel safe or welcome due to the prevalence of bullying and racism. This is unacceptable as every child deserves an excellent education without fear or discrimination.

The National Center for Educational Statistics reports that one out of every five students report being bullied. This statistic is alarming and it's time we take action to ensure our school does not contribute to this number.

We are calling for the implementation of comprehensive anti-bullying, anti-racism, equality measures along with accountability actions in our school system. We believe that by addressing these issues head-on, we can foster a safer and more inclusive environment for all students.

Our children should never be denied an excellent education due to the negligence or arrogance of any leader. It's time for Wilson Middle School to step up its efforts in combating these issues by implementing effective policies that promote respect, tolerance, and inclusivity among all students.
