Implement Additional Tax on all stores Using Self-Checkouts

Implement Additional Tax on all stores Using Self-Checkouts
The Issue
As a disabled person suffering from dyslexia and other health conditions, I find using self-checkout machines increasingly complicated and tiresome. Not only am I not compensated for doing an employee's job, im just taxed more for spending hard earned money there are barely any employees present to assist when needed.
For years, supermarkets and companies alike have been using self-checkouts to improve efficiency and customer service. However, this practice also significantly reduces the number of available jobs, placing more strain on public purse and benefit systems ultimately increasing tax.
I believe that every supermarket and company using self-checkouts should pay an extra tax of at least minimum wage per self-checkout in every store to the government. This should serve as compensation for reducing job opportunities, and to ease strain on public purse, tax and welfare systems.
According to the International Labour Organization’s report "Humans Wanted: Why Automation Won’t Kill Off Your Job", about 7.2 million jobs could be automated in the U.K over the next 20 years. This can escalate the unemployment rate and the demands on welfare programs.
This automated service should not come at the cost of those who are most vulnerable in our society and those that work the hardest too We demand a fair and equitable solution. As each machine is a job gone that's less tax being paid.
Putting profits first is not a logical solution, Thease company's should not be allowed to make astronomical profits at the taxpayers expence as this is ultimately what is happening.
Please join me in urging the government to implement this additional tax on supermarkets and store's using self-checkout systems. Sign this petition to protect our workforce and ease burden on our benefit systems.
