We, the community of Stewkley, Drayton Parslow and Newton Longville, kindly request your support in urging the local authorities to install a roundabout at the dangerous crossroads located in our town. This petition aims to address the pressing need for improved road safety measures that have been plaguing our community for far too long.

1. Safety Concerns:
The current layout of the crossroads poses significant safety risks to motorists. The absence of affective traffic control measures has led to numerous accidents and near-misses over the years. By installing a roundabout, we can greatly reduce these risks by promoting safer driving habits through controlled roundabouts .According to studies, roundabouts significantly reduce fatal crashes by 90%.
By implementing a roundabout at our crossroads, we can greatly reduce the risk of severe accidents and protect drivers.

2. Cost-effective Solution:
Installing a roundabout may initially require an investment; however, it offers long-term cost savings compared to alternative solutions like traffic lights. Roundabouts require less maintenance and consume less energy than traditional intersection designs while providing continuous operation without relying on electricity..

4. Community Support:
A recent discussion conducted among the local residents revealed huge support for implementing a roundabout at our crossroads as an effective solution for safer roads and improved traffic management.

So many people are affected by not having safety measure in place to protect us getting from A to B. This is greatly affecting the surrounding communities. Obviously the current give way sign in this area is not working which only proves that we need something else in place in order for this stop. 

I have children and it would kill me if I had to cross that road after looking and someone has hit my car, endangering my children and my life. I would hate to be in a situation where I have fear of getting hurt. Or more so, for those have that been hurt? 

How many more accidents is it going to take, until a life is lost? How much longer is the Buckinghamshire council going to brush this off?

I cannot stress enough how important it is to add a roundabout. Stop this once and for all!

Please all I ask is for us to look after ourselves and our community, keep us safe.
