My beloved dog recently developed an ulcer in her eye. When I took her to the vet, I was shocked to find out that just for her to be seen by a vet cost me £500 and it would cost me £680 more to seek diagnosis. I have been quoted a further £2000 for medical management and if this doesnt work a fuether £6000 for surgical management. This is a staggering amount that many pet owners like myself struggle to afford. 

The high cost of veterinary care is a widespread issue affecting countless pet owners across the country. According to the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA), one in three pet owners have reported difficulty in affording veterinary care, leading many pets untreated or even euthanized due to financial constraints.

It's time we address this issue head-on by implementing a cap on treatment costs at all veterinary clinics nationwide. This will ensure that our furry friends receive the necessary medical attention they need without causing undue financial stress on their loving families.

We urge lawmakers and regulatory bodies overseeing animal health services to take immediate action towards this pressing matter - because no pet should suffer due to high medical costs.
