The issue

As a local business owner in St Peters, New South Wales, I am confronted every day with the chaos that parking becomes on Princes Highway, between Short Street and May Street. Around 10am, the street fills up with cars from the local Land Rover mechanic and leaves hardly any room for our customers, not to mention the visitors to the apartments nearby.

Both local residents and businesses are affected by this issue, as the same business appears to take up the majority of the street parking. With recent growth in businesses and increased demand for residential parking, efficient parking regulation has become essential.

Imposing a 1-hour parking restriction would force a turnover of cars parked on the street, thus creating more opportunities for guests and customers to park and for businesses to prosper. It would also ensure fair usage of public parking spaces and promote a healthier, more harmonious community.

By implementing this change, we would not just be supporting local businesses and but local residents also.

Please sign this petition to help make Princes Highway a more accessible and better place for all. We urge our local authorities in St Peters to consider the introduction of a 1-hour parking restriction on Princes Highway between Campbell Street and May Street. By signing this petition, you too can support more reasonable parking regulation, improved business growth, and increased quality of neighborhood life in St Peters.
