I recently became aware of the fact that in his draft opinion on overturning Roe v Wade, Justice Alito appears to be referencing 1000 year old documents from a places/times in our history when we literally treated women like property, as the basis for overturning one of the most important supreme court cases that helps protect women's rights to bodily autonomy.

In my opinion using such archaic mores as a basis for setting or overturning legal precedent is horrifying, and should be grounds for impeachment and removal from the supreme court.

If Justice Alito and his Cronies are allowed to get away with this, where does it end? Should we expect him to start citing ancient Sumerian texts on the practice of keeping slaves to try to bring that back too?? Are Justices going to use the Salem Witch Trials as precedent to bring back witch burning? Are we going to start seeing Justices reaching for the Bible, or Torah, or the Quran for legal precedent, or to refute established case law?

Politicians like to use the "slippery slope" argument more often than I would like, but I can't think of a case better suited for that argument, than Justice Alito's tactics in pushing to overturn Roe v Wade.

A dead body cannot be harvested as an organ donor to save the lives of multiple people if the deceased had not chosen to be an organ donor, yet Justice Alito wants to control the wombs of every woman in the country. If Alito and his ilk have their way, corpses will literally have more bodily autonomy than live women. Justice Alito and possibly the other Justices who agreed with him, need to be impeached, and removed from the Supreme Court.
