Impeach Judge Denise Ash for Failure to Protect Attacked Pregnant Woman

Impeach Judge Denise Ash for Failure to Protect Attacked Pregnant Woman
The Issue
During the last week of April 2025, a Montgomery County woman was viciously attacked by the man who she conceived her unborn child by. It’s made headlines all over this side of PA, if not further. The video footage captured on a neighbors ring cam is horrific to watch; this man attacked her from behind as she left for work, beating her to the ground, kicking her in the face and in the stomach after admitting he didn’t want the baby. The victim is 15 weeks pregnant.
The victim is currently hospitalized with a broken nose and a plethora of other injuries. It is unknown to the public at this time the status of the unborn child she’s carrying.
Prosecutors of Montgomery County did a phenomenal job, with a recommendation of the attacker’s bail set at $1 million due to the horrifically violent nature of the attack.
Judge Denise Ash, a woman, decided that his bail would be set at $75,000 unsecured. For those who aren’t familiar with the term of unsecured bail, the defendant is booked and then released on bail with nothing but their signature stating that they agree to show up to court and if not, they owe the full bail amount. He was immediately released.
This caused mass outrage in the community because this man not only had the opportunity to go on the run, but to also further attack and assault the pregnant victim, leaving her and her unborn child in extreme danger. A woman we voted in failed to protect another woman and her unborn child.
The district attorney’s office filed an emergency motion for bail revision due to the nature of the crime, and only then plus community outrage, did the judge revise his bail. He is currently in prison where he belongs with his bail now set to $500,000. That’s still only half of what the prosecutors were seeking, making it easier for him to post bail (bail to be released is required at 10% of the total).
Judge Denise Ash had a second chance to make things right, and as I see it, still failed the victim and the community. This man admitted to committing the crimes he was charged with, and also admitted to not wanting the baby.
Innocent until proven guilty is one thing, but when the defendant admits to their crimes it’s safe to say he’s far from innocent.
The community and surrounding areas were greatly impacted by this judge’s lack of regard for public safety, safety of the victim and her unborn child, and realistically the rest of the country if he would have chosen to go on the run.
This is a female judge failing to protect not only the above mentioned, but most importantly another woman, is proof that she has no regard for her own kind, let alone the community.
This judge likely only made her decision to revise bail because of community outrage since we elect our judges. It seems as though the media attention this story got made her fear for her own job security as an elected official, which likely led her to revise the bail amount and conditions.
An elected official of any kind is put in place to protect and serve justice. Instead, she seemingly only cared about herself in this matter. I believe we can all agree that she has proven by this instance alone that she is unfit for her position in the judicial system.
Now is the time to act by signing this petition to have her impeached from ruling a court of law. Put yourself in the victims shoes, her family’s shoes, any abused woman’s shoes, and ask yourself if this is the kind of judge you’d want to help keep you safe. The answer is, she’s not.
Without impeachment of Judge Denise Ash, future victims of these kinds of crimes are at high risk because of her careless conduct and ruling.
85% of domestic violence victims are women.
1 out of every 3 women are victims of domestic violence.
Those statistics are way too high, and judges like Denise Ash are only contributing to keeping them that way.
Judge Denise Ash needs to be removed and impeached promptly to protect women. If she has no empathy for her own kind, I can’t imagine what her other rulings have looked like. This is bigger than protecting women, this is a public safety concern to have her serving as judge.
