Impeach Attorney General Pam Bondi: Restore Integrity to the DOJ

The Issue

We, the undersigned, urge the House Judiciary Committee to launch an impeachment inquiry into Attorney General Pam Bondi. The Attorney General’s actions have raised grave concerns about political coercion, retaliation against career federal employees, and threats to the rule of law.

Key concerns include:

• Forcing DOJ attorneys to violate ethical duties

A February 5, 2025 memo reportedly directed federal lawyers to “zealously pursue the President’s political objectives,” threatening discipline for refusing to take actions they believed violated legal ethics.

• Retaliatory firings and resignations

Multiple career DOJ employees have been fired, pushed out, or placed on leave after refusing to carry out actions unsupported by evidence. These include:

– Erez Reuveni, fired after truthfully reporting a wrongful deportation

– Senior prosecutors in New York and Washington who resigned rather than dismiss corruption charges without legal basis

– Ethics advisors removed after raising concerns

– January 6 prosecutors fired or reassigned following political interference

• Refusing to answer questions about evidence in the Epstein investigation

Bondi declined to provide clear answers during Senate questioning about whether the FBI recovered photos connected to Jeffrey Epstein’s activities.

• Targeting a federal judge for raising constitutional concerns

Bondi’s DOJ filed a misconduct complaint against Chief Judge James Boasberg after he warned the administration about ignoring federal court orders.

• Allegedly unlawful appointment of a special prosecutor

Bondi is accused of improperly appointing Lindseay Halligan to prosecute cases against James Comey and Letitia James—an appointment that may violate federal law and undermine the legitimacy of those prosecutions.

We respectfully call on the House Judiciary Committee to:

Open a formal impeachment inquiry into Attorney General Pam Bondi
Subpoena documents, communications, and directives relating to the allegations
Investigate whether the Attorney General has abused her power or violated her oath of office

No Attorney General is above the law.

Congress must act to protect the independence of the Department of Justice and restore trust in our institutions.
