Every day Americans are arrested, charged, and punished for breaking the law—no excuses, no delays. Meanwhile, politicians and powerful officials break laws and walk away untouched, protected by their titles and political connections. This is not justice. It’s a rigged, two-tier system where power buys immunity and accountability is optional. If the law applies to the people, it must apply to those in power—immediately, equally, and without exception.

We, the undersigned, demand equal and immediate accountability under the law for all public officials—including elected leaders, appointed officials, and senior government figures.

In the United States, ordinary citizens can be arrested, charged, and prosecuted quickly when they break the law. Yet powerful political figures are often shielded by delays, immunity claims, political protections, or outright inaction.

This two-tiered justice system erodes public trust, undermines the rule of law, and damages democracy.

Public office should never function as a shield from accountability.

We call for legislation that guarantees:

 • Equal treatment under the law for all public officials, including the President, members of Congress, judges, governors, and senior appointees

 • Timely investigation, arrest, and charging when probable cause exists—on the same timeline as any private citizen

 • No immunity for criminal acts, corruption, abuse of power, obstruction of justice, or constitutional violations

 • Independent, nonpartisan enforcement free from political interference

 • Criminal accountability that cannot be delayed or replaced by political processes such as impeachment or censure

No one should be above the law—especially those entrusted with power.

If an everyday American would face consequences for breaking the law, politicians should face the same consequences, just as quickly.
