Identity V Netease games: Improvements

Identity V Netease games: Improvements

At this point we all know how the servers behave. Yes, I’m talking about the NA/EU server and ASIA server too. For anyone who plays on these servers the main thing we can always complain about is “lag” or “ping”. As you have probably noticed anytime you play, if you’re far enough from Northern America (which is a fact for many people including myself) or just far enough from Europe, you’re gonna notice that the ping will never be lower than 100ms (barely enough to play well) and will always tend to spike up from 150ms to 999ms at times. We can ask ourselves, is this our fault for living so far from the servers? I believe this is not our fault, as many players have seen during these last 2 years since the game launched, the servers have always been the same. Why are the servers not divided & why do these lag problems continue? (We’re not saying that every single day the ping is horrible, but most of the time it’s not stable at all from our experience) Now, knowing their market is higher in the Chinese server, we know for a fact that at this point in the game, if they have millions to offer in game tournaments for the Chinese servers or NA/EU and ASIA server, why is it that they don’t invest money into fixing or improving servers. Dividing the servers, investing more, may help so that everybody in the US can have good ping if they’re inside their server, and viceversa with the Europe and Asia server (of course we are not game developers or entrepreneurs in order to understand their reasoning for not addressing these issues in the first place, this is all based on our playing experience). This is obviously a great deal to ask, but it’s been a problem, since forever at this point, and not seeing any information on whether they wish or have been trying to improve our servers in any way only leaves us with this, a desperate call for information and to try to understand them. We need better servers! If we wanna play a competitive game competitively, we need good ping! It’s not my wifi! Its the server!
Another point we have to make important is how the Chinese server has better treatment whether it’s because their market is better or for other reasons. Want all the events? All the tournaments? Regional tournaments? Most of the time really good ping? Possibly better rewards? At this point I would love to play in their server. For any of us, if we wanted to play in the Chinese server since were so far away we basically cannot even move there due to our distance in the first place. Of course, we’re not asking to give us everything, but can you give us answers as to why these things happen?
Here are some examples of things the Chinese server has had unlike NA/EU & SEA server
The Chinese server on the play modes for 8v2 ( 2 hunters vs. 8 survivors) it had (we cannot confirm if they keep having it as we can’t find any recent videos from the Chinese server) a microphone feature, like many other games that require teamwork. This feature came out with the 8v2 mode inside the game more than a year ago. Of course The NA/EU Server does not have this feature, nor does the SEA server.
Another example to take is a recent event that sparked just a bit of controversy in the IDV community. First the Chinese server were gonna get:
50 inspiration
150 inspiration
600 clues
20 inspiration
30 spy glasses
888 fragments
188 clues
188 fragments
And what seems to be some A tier unlock cards (rumors were saying they were actually S tier unlock cards. But it was not confirmed to our knowledge)
These items were obtainable if you were to spend money into the game and you would essentially be enticed into wanting to add money inside for all of these items. Of course NA/EU should not have gotten these rewards. How was this issue solved?. So they decided to take them away, of course, what happens when you take something that’s no longer there? Well, you leave players with a negative balance, meaning they would essentially have to turn the negative value into positive in order to be able to keep gaining those fragments or inspirations causing other problems. Players weren’t happy and they were speaking their feelings and in order to that the compensation given to us was:
200 clues
200 fragments
1 memory essenses
Then, obviously, as players were not happy with this compensation, they then received a slightly better compensation, (we do not remember exactly which compensation were given, but we do know that the community ended up slightly happier because of it) This compensation went into the hands of the whole server instead of the affected people with negative balance or that lost fragments and inspirations in the first place. Many people argue whether or not it was a fair compensation, but that is up to the people who sign this petition to actually decide. Now, what was all of this information for? Did you notice how only the Chinese server was gonna get those awesome rewards?
For our last point, we would love to ask for the echo prices to be actually more balanced. For this we mean that the echoes can tend to look like they cost too much money, yes, you can choose whether or not to buy in order to get things faster in the game, especially skins since they’re basically impossible to get in the first place. It’s absurd to think anybody will get to 270 open essenses only basing themselves of not putting any money into the game. So actually spending money can help get these skins or accessories in the first place. Now, an S tier skin can cost about 2800 echoes, for 30$ US dollars you get about 2000 (a little bit more) meaning you have to actually spend about 40$ to 50$ just to get the skin you wish for. We’re not saying the amount of echoes given is wrong, we’re saying the price can maybe be adjusted. This game is played by 13+ year olds, most of them are not gonna have a credit card until they’re 18 years of age, yes, "Why do you care about the prices for teen players if they don’t have a credit card in the first place?" If the game is for that age and up, it should be equal or in the least, more affordable for all the younger player base because they could always ask an adult to buy them in-game echoes. Even so, it’s not the only point for making echoes more affordable for kids but for older players too who wish to spend their money. Why not let others actually get a better chance at spending a little bit less money in order to get these awesome skins? Hear me out, in other game very similar to Identity V, most of you can be familiar with it, has its own skins system, they’re skins are not obtainable through essenses (a betting system) they’re obtained with hard work or just about ten dollars, yes, you can argue, “the skins are not any better than the one in IDV” to which I would tell you, “well that’s my opinion”. We as consumers decide whether or not it’s worth for us to spend ten dollars in a skin, or three hundred dollars just to open two hundred and seventy essenses and getting the same A tier skin twenty times. We don’t need it to be cheap, just more affordable for players.
For our last two points we would love to add thanks to a supporter, was the suggestion to give more attention to unpopular characters, by giving them more skins, events or other things in the same way they are given to popular characters which is a great point.
Something we are all sure every player has gotten to miss is the aspect of a story, a story to unfold, the mysteries surrounding the manor and its characters. These story aspects have been in the game from the start but over the last year+ it’s been slow in advancements and we think players would love that.
To conclude we want to clarify that we are not developers or entrepreneurs nor do we have experience working in video games. We ask for all of this to be taken as player opinion only and with respect. Wether or not, what we mentioned in the petition is decided to get fixed or improve or not to take actions, we would love to have an explanation about everything and why things are how they are. Thanks you so much for reading and supporting.
