Wow, almost 100,000 signatures. Over 80,000 people raising their voice for the voiceless and fighting back against the U.S.'s ongoing animal cruelty. Thank you everyone who has signed, shared, and donated to this cause. Even if this horrid bill goes through and is passed by the State House, you should all feel enormous pride and accomplishment. We have still proven to the House that we care about their actions, and that they can't get away with passing these bills under our noses like they have so many times before. No matter the outcome of this petition, I hope it has left an impression in everyone's mind- that this issue is widespread, and shows no sign of slowing down. Greed, hatred, and cruelty are often regarded as hallmarks of 'human nature'. But so many of us have proven that we as a species have the power to choose kindness, harmony, and intelligence to be our defining traits instead. It's up to our lawmakers and representatives to decide how we as a species want to be remembered, and what sort of world we leave behind for our future generations. Let it be one where we can live harmoniously, side by side with other parts of nature, rather than one where we crush it underfoot in the pursuit of our own expansion and dominance.
