We are a group of committed students at our nursing college, struggling immensely under the unfair grading system. Over half of us are failing due to a final evaluation structure that puts undue stress on our academic performance. At present, the final exam holds a whopping 65% weightage of our total grades. 

Here's the thing that hurts us most - we are also consumers of education. We have poured countless hours and thousands of dollars into pursuing our dreams, only to face a disproportionate grading system that targets our passion and commitment. We will all fail the semester and will not be able to sit for our boards exam if nothing changes. 

The study materials provided to us are not in line with the final assessment. We are given the ATI platform, yet not evaluated according to it. This creates a gap in our preparation and exam performance. 

Our plea isn't unfounded. In the last 3 capstone cohorts, the passing percentage slipped dramatically to 31% or below. This is a far cry from the 75-95% passing rates of previous years. It indicates a grave problem in the system that needs immediate attention.

We are not asking for any privileges. All we ask for is a fair grading system. We request either a reduction in the weightage of the final exam OR a  standard ATI final – the same resource we were trained on. We are given standard practice exams yet tested on custom exams.

We demand justice in education for the dreams we have invested in and the careers we aspire to. We are urging the administration to understand our plight and take appropriate action.
