Due to the covid 19 pandemic, our lives have changed, we are on lockdowns, one after another. We have come to realize that life doesn't have to stop. We have as responsible citizens adhered to the lockdown rules laid by our President Cyril Ramaphosa. 

Today we are forced to do everything online, on the internet, we use data to interact with families, we use data to shop, we use data to study online, we use data to conduct business(e-commerce), to conduct meetings and work from home and activities that without the pandemic and lockdowns we would meet and conduct them.

Now everyone needs to be safe and stay at home, work from home, but this cannot happen to most of us, as data in South Africa is expensive compared to other countries, whereas these network companies are South African.

People in the rural areas do not have WIFI in their communities like it happens in urban areas and some townships and as such cannot afford to be online and have a normal life under lockdowns. We kindly request the governement, ICASA to call all networks in South Africa, MTN, Vodacom, Telkom, Cell C and Rain to make data affordable to at the least a person in deep rural areas.
