“ An essential employee is a designated employee that is required to work during a business closure in order to meet operational requirements. Essential employees designation is determined by the state, along with the responsibilities of the employee, and the reasons for closing. “ 

I’m writing this petition to bring awareness of what our government thinks an “essential worker” is in hopes of funds getting issued to thousands if not millions of people who are entitled to what’s owed to them. Our country was hit with an pandemic which we didn’t ask for, our president told us out his own mouth “we have this under control”. Due to this pandemic people hours were cut, people lost their  jobs, and went into a  depressed state of mind.

Trump received 3 trillion in funding for the pandemic and only 200 billion went towards essential workers, the ones who are slaving to keep this country running, it is the citizens/ essential workers who keep this country up and running. Everyone hasn’t  been able to receive unemployment even though thousands have applied only a select amount were able to receive funding, 15% increase for food stamps and new help for paying employer-backed health coverage, but why is it when those who applied for unemployment were cut of their funds ? $175 billion housing assistance fund to help pay rents and mortgages, but if you receive unemployment your rent/goes up ? 

You mean to tell me a person working at Mc Donald’s during this pandemic making $8 an hour in the state of Louisiana is entitled to nothing but a $1,200 stimulus not to mention 10% of those who caught the virus and  the 3%  that died (random guess) their life is only worth $1,200, not  mention those who weren’t able to receive unemployment or food stamps but were still forced to work in order to provide for themselves, you mean to tell me a nurse who didn’t receive a covoid patient isn’t entitled to a raise but still forced to go to work and be around those who have the virus but is liable to catch the virus and bring it back home to her/his family causing them all to be sick and die, is that not slavery ? CNAS, LPNS, RNS DSW,PCAS EVEs etc.  invest years into their future/education to serve their country and take care of the sick and only a select amount receiving hazard pay ? Do I have y’all attention? Does Trump owe more to the citizens that are running this country ? We all need a new house, car and raise oh and a paid vacation after this wouldn’t you agree a one 1,200 check is not enough you can’t put a price on those who are suffering and dead but for those who are living need to know their lives matter.
