Weston, Ct P&Z are due to vote on changing the zoning laws for our town on the 7th, of April, 2025. The changes will allow the construction of 3 bedroom apartments on the corner of Weston Road and Norton Road. The changes to the zoning laws will allow for apartment complexes to be built in the town thereby removing the peace and charm that drew residents to Weston. As it stands, the residents of Weston, CT will not get to vote on these changes. BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THAT!!!

By signing this petition you are allowing your voice to be heard. We need at least 360 signatures from the residents of the Town to make this matter be voted on by the residents of Weston via referendum. As it stands the vote on the zoning to be changed sits with the P&Z Board only. The P&Z Board will decide what’s best for Weston, CT. Not the residents. If the members of the Board decide to change the zoning laws then that will be that. No chance for the residents to change.

This is not an appeal based on your politics. Whether you are Democrat, Republican, Communist or Liberal, the changes to our Towns zoning laws will affect you, your property values, your taxes and your security.

The petition is to make sure that any changes to our zoning laws should be decided by the people, not government (local or otherwise). At the last P&Z meeting that was open for public discussion, over 92% of public comment and electronic email were against the changes to our zoning laws. 92% against!! In spite of this, the majority for the P&Z Board appear in favor of changes to the zoning laws!

Please take the time to sign this petition and so that we can decide via the ballot what is best for our Town. Do not assume that the P&Z has your best interests at heart. Signing will give us all the opportunity to make a decision. This may be one of the biggest changes to our Town in years. Don’t trust the P&Z Board to make the right decision for you.
