G’day everybody.

It saddens me to say that over the last couple of days we’ve seen a real slump in signatures for a veterans’ voice in cabinet :-(

It doesn’t help our cause that media has simply glossed over the news of Veterans’ Affairs being shuffled off to the outer ministry. I think it’s time to focus on awareness rather than numbers of signatures.

As most of us are coming into a long-weekend I have a favour to ask. Over the next 3 days, could every one of you try to start a conversation with at least one person about the loss of ADF vet representation in cabinet? No pressure for signatures, no partisan politics, no hidden agendas - just a conversation about how veterans are represented and cared for. To me this is more important than attracting the attention of a politician in the Canberra bubble.
