So, we have some good news and some bad news. Hyundai has officially added CarPlay support for the 2016 Sonata. They are installing it during assembly of the vehicle. Also, apparently the CarPlay update will be free. Hyundai also set up a website to verify if your 2015/2016 Sonata has the ability to support CarPlay (https://autoservice.hyundaiusa.com/PhoneIntegration/MicroSiteTemplate/MicroSiteTemplateVINValidate/1980) Now, for all of the bad news. CarPlay is still not available for the 2015 Sonatas with navigation and the 2016 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid. Hyundai says they will make an announcement at a future date. I'm sure they learned their lesson about giving hard dates, since they have changed it several times. There seems to be an issue with the on-board navigation map that is proving to be problematic. We have to be relentless in pushing for what we, as customers, deserve: delivery on promises and impeccable customer service. Thanks to everyone for sharing and let's keep the momentum going.
