As great as it sounds to change the holiday name from Columbus Day to Italian heritage/ indigenous peoples day. It still doesn’t change the fact statues of Columbus still stand. 
The change is making progress but progress can easily be taken away. This may feel like a major victory but it’s only the beginning. We’ve got a lot of work to do.
