We all understand the relationship between sedentary behavior and depression*, we all know parents who complain about their kids needing to get outside*, we can all comprehend how boredom leads to crime and drug abuse*, yet the Hume council lacks drive in preventing unhealthy/catatonic youth. I propose that the best way to fight these now common problems is to build facilities that can provide an adrenaline rush, a cardiovascular workout, and a space to build relationships through activity. Cross country bike trails are the best way to do this as the skill level required to ride them is far lower than that of skate-parks meaning they can be enjoyed by everyone. There are no final plans but locals have already started digging the trail for their own purposes, so I hope you all share my vision of creating a better community and sign this petition to show the Hume council that this is something we need/want.
