Over the past half a century, there has been a drastic surge for meat and poultry consumption. Nevertheless, such a rapid growth has not reduce the demand for wild animals meat and other products and in many cases, the markets for such animals have expanded even larger than before. such an expansion has caused irreversible consequences for the earth ecosystem, animals and humans. one of the increasingly recurring after-effects is multiple epidemics originated in animals, predominantly wild ones, having subsequently passed to humans. These diseases, such as Aids, Ebola, Influenza type A and B, SARS, MERS-CoV and the most recent one, Covid-19 account for thousands of human lives and billions of dollars financial loss. 

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, health authorities in China shrewdly introduced a ban on wild animals trades.

Notwithstanding, this is only a temporary measure and such trades soon will return to their former states.Considering the unimaginable, yet avoidable damage incurred on humans lives and in order to prevent the future pandemics, we strongly urge the respectable government of China and the rest of the world to permanently prohibit the trade and consumption of wild animals (including cats and dogs) and take even more decisive actions to make the world safer by breaking the chain and controlling the transmission of emerging diseases.

طی نیم قرن گذشته،  مصرف گوشت و مرغ در سراسر جهان افزایش چشمگیری داشته است. با این همه، تقاضا برای  گوشت و سایر فرآورده های حیوانات وحشی  نه تنها کاهش نیافته، بلکه در بسیاری از موارد، بازار فروش این فرآورده ها حتی بیش از گذشته گسترش یافته است.  این امر، عواقب جبران ناپذیری برای اکوسیستم کره زمین، و در نتیجه حیوانات و انسان داشته است. یکی از عوارض جانبی تاثیر انسان بر اکوسیستم، همه گیری بیماری های نوپدید مشترک انسان و حیوان است که منشا آنها عمدتا حیات وحش می باشد که متعاقباً به انسان منتقل شده است.  بیماری هایی مانند ایدز ، ایبولا ، آنفلوانزای تیپ ای و بی ، سارس، مرس و جدیدترین آنها بیماری کووید -19 سبب مرگ هزاران انسان شده  و خسارات مالی ناشی از آنها بالغ بر میلیاردها دلار می شود.

به عنوان پاسخی به منشا همه گیری بیماری کووید19، مقامات بهداشتی  چین  ممنوعیت تجارت حیوانات وحشی را اعلام کردند. با این وجود ، به نظر می رسد در صورت عدم پیگیری جدی ، این گام اقدامی موقت و زودگذرباشد. با توجه به تاثیر و خسارات غیرقابل تصور و در عین حال قابل اجتنابی که تنها بیماری کووید 19 بر زندگی انسان ها وارد کرده است و به منظور جلوگیری از همه گیریهای جهانی  بیماری های مشابه در آینده ، ما از دولت محترم چین و سایر کشورهای جهان مصرا  می خواهیم که  ممنوعیت تجارت و استفاده از گوشت و سایر فرآورده های حیوانات وحشی و نیز سگها و گربه ها در چین دائمی شده و با قاطعیت پیگیری شود تا  با شکستن زنجیره و مهار انتقال بیماریهای نوپدید بتوان جهان امن تری ساخت.
