Hi all! As an update, I would like to post the story of the recent tragedy of Rusty... another suspected victim of Bravecto. I copy and paste directly from the post of Mike Morin on the fb group "Does Bravecto Kill Dogs?". One often reads about a vet stating that a victim was old, and that "old age" was responsible for the death of a dog. This has frequently happened since Bravecto has entered Veterinary Practices globally. I am also witness to a certain vet (biased towards Bravecto) blaming SARDS for the blindness of my brother's dog in a comment on her blogsite/website. After asking her a few simple questions, she responded extremely unprofessionally. What I would like to bring to the attention of the public is the following: Blindness after a victim ingested Bravecto has been reported in several cases. So why blame SARDS before actually investigating? Also, 11 years is not all that old for a small dog. I know about hundreds of dogs that lived healthy and vibrant lives for 15 years or longer, two even growing as old as 25. These dogs were all given natural treatments when necessary. Why should we allow a drug to take that life expectancy away from our furkids just because "Big Pharma" is so powerful? Here is Rusty's story: My Excellent Veterinarian also recommended Bravecto for my healthy 11 year old Bichon/Maltese mix that just passed her annual physical with no complications. 3 days later "Rusty" was 100% blind and within 3 weeks (July 4th, 2016), I woke up to her panting heavily and laying in her own vomit. I cleaned her up in the shower and 2 hours later she had a MAJOR Seizure (none prior) with minimal response afterwards.. Unfortunately, as I held her in my hands, I had to say goodbye to the most wonderful loving friend and little family member. RIP! Shame on Merck!!! I do have a case number and my Vet reported the incident. Please advice any next steps I can take to help with the $1500 eye vet bill and/or a petition and/or case lawsuit I can join, to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else in the near future. Any guidance is greatly appreciated! - Thanks!.. Mike/Rusty" My sentiments are exactly the same as that of Mike, who has lost his dear furchild to this drug. As always, I will NOT declare a victory, unless it is a TRUE victory: this drug must be PERMANENTLY removed from the shelves of all shops and practices currently selling Bravecto, and Merck must recall it.
