Howard Webb: Hand In Your Resignation With Immediate Effect

The Issue

After the result where Craig Pawson wrongly gave Manchester City a penalty. When it wasn't one. For the first penalty. At least. I am extremely dissapointed with the FA. And their approach to dealing with things. I will support placing the PGMOL under more scrutiny, including. Mr Webb, and Mr Pawson. And all of the other officials, who try to run the show. I have voiced concerns about officials for quite some time. So have a lot of people. Including Ian Wright, Alan Shearer, and most of the football community. Either want VAR scrapped. Or want serious changes. I don't see the entertaining side of VAR.

I see it as an inconvenience more than anything else. I am giving Howard Webb an opportunity to redeem himself. An opportunity to make ammends. An opportunity, to put right, what he has put wrong. An opportunity to account for his actions. I am giving him that privilege. That privilege, to do this.

Because being in charge of the FA. It isn't a right, it's a privilege. And he can't be going around abusing that privilege. He has to put his money where his mouth is. He is quick to apologise. Yet, he has to make serious changes. For me, the only change. He has done so far. Is done the Automatic Offside thing. For next season. I think he needs to do more than that. I think he needs to evaluate every official, on a match by match basis. And if they don't perform to the high standards. That everyone expects, that he should expect. He should have words with them, and change things around.

Even more so, than he is doing. I know he has hired some new officials. Yet we are still stuck with the officials, who are ruining the game. He has to hold them to account. And ask them why they make these decisions. Not just releasing the audio after it's happened. All this time asking for transparency and getting nowhere.

I was planning on writing to my MP in due course, and to explain to her what is going on, as she was supportive last time. I think there's an election going on right now, so not sure if I can contact her still. I got a response from the FA yet wasn't worth putting up as it basically said. 'Football is a passionate game, and we have to balance protecting the refs, to giving clubs their freedom'. Just paraphrasing that slightly.

So, obviously I will definately be campaigning again. Even though it's subject which may divide opinion. I am quite prepared to take the hits, of people saying they dissaprove of the petition. Because more people approve than dissaprove. The Wolves fan base are understandably very upset, and it's the angriest I have seen the Wolves fans this season. I am getting worked up, and annoyed. And then what adds insult to injury is people say. 'Oh it's just a game'. No, football is more than a game. People's jobs are on the line, people's livelyhoods are on the line. People's wages are on the line. There is a lot of emotional, and financial investment into the sport. It's not like watching the cricket on TV. It's a different ball game. When you start to screw with teams, and mess them around. So, we send a statement, and this statement is. Is that we mean business. Not only that, yet, I am not messing around. I take this very seriously, and assertively. Like I should do, and I have hundreds/thousands of people behind me, who feel the same way. It's not like I am alone in this journey.

The PGMOL right now is unnacceptable. And this is going to have to change. Then my work will be done.

I will support all clubs, no matter who they are, in making complaints. If they have been badly treated by the FA.

I don't miss any clubs out. I treat people equally. If the PGMOL took a leaf out of my book, and understood. It's about fairness and equality. If Man City have a decision go against them. I will still document it. This affects the whole Premier League. Even though the smaller teams.

I will also help teams of any division, even non football league teams, in challenging the FA. This isn't bias to the Premier League. The FA, conduct the rules of all divisions. And it's time all clubs spoke out.

Every signature counts. Don't underestimate signatures, and raising awareness, as it helps educate the wider public. Who may not be aware of how VAR works.
