Wasn't sure how many signatures this would get. It seemed stalled at one point, yet the signatures, slowly but surely keep growing. Because of my tenancity and confidence to keep this petition alive, and to keep the momentum going. To increase awareness of VAR. And to help officials think twice before making controversial decisions, which is something in which I think is important.

I remember the days of Mike Dean, always wanting to grab the spotlight. For me, a ref, a good ref. Should be pretty much invisible, and let the game flow. I understand that red cards have to be dished out, if it's a clear red. Yet, I have seen so many silly reds being given out for challenges that are just a yellow and a chat in the ear, and that's it.

I think Michael Oliver and Andrew Madley are good refs. And they are very professional in how they conduct themselves. Yet, not everyone sings from their hymn sheet. Some of the refs, just like to be little Mike Deans, or little Simon Hoopers. And like to try and micromanage the game. Which it isn't there to be micromanaged.

In relation to obvious factors that need addressing, like the fact football is a contact sport. And the other factors involve using your common sense, and not sticking rigidly to the rule book. Using your discretion, and using common sense. And looking at the rule book. And if it's a borderline decision where you look at the rule book and the rule book is telling you one thing. Yet, there are mitigating factors, and other things at play. That you need to consider, then you have to use your discretion. And I do agree that VAR has taken discretion away from the refs. Because a lot of stuff used to let go. But not, it's almost like, everything has to be put under this microscope, to be analysed. And even if there is a trace of something, something is ruled out. And it shouldn't be like that. Keep signing. I am overwhelmed by the support, and the football community coming together in this time of adversity. To help grow the disagreement against VAR. Will continue. All we ask as football fans, is our beautiful game is given back to us. It's not any more complicated than that.

It shouldn't be 'welcome to the VAR show'. Yet some times, that's what happens, and we have to hold these officials to account. I know Gary has just been done by the FA for his word choices after one of the games. Yet, I wasn't there when he said what he did. So I can't really comment on what happened. As I wasn't there. I mean, I was there, I was actually at the game. Yet I didn't go with him into the refs room, and listen to the discussion. Yet, judging from his reaction post game, he was merely reacting to a bad decision. Gary was provoked, and he let his emotions get the best of him. Yet, they can fine him and charge him all they want. I am sure he's confident with getting on with proceedings. I am pretty sure he's just going to no comment every interviewer that asks about VAR now. However, people like me. Will continue to petition and continue to campaign. So even though this geezer has been done by the FA. People like me, ie, football fans. We will keep banging on the drum, and banging on the noise. That the match officiating has to get to the point where officials aren't abusing their use of power, through making decisions. That go against common sense really. Howard Webb has to reconsider his plans moving forward. He has been too silent on the things that matter. And this has to change.
