Hello everyone, I know it’s been a long time since CB-9 ‘happened’ (I won’t say succeeded or failed, it was a bit of both!), but with the primaries coming up I thought you might want to know which candidates support sanctuary counties and legislation such as CB-9. Here’s a run through of what they did during that campaign and what they are saying now. Most of the information is from Indivisible (bottom of page), and some is from the OM debate video or their campaign sites. County Executive: Calvin Ball sponsored CB-9 last year, making him a good pick. However, more pressure might need to be put on him in the future since he recently suggested that this legislation would not be needed if he was County Exec. His likely opponent is Allan Kittleman who vetoed the bill and is still not supportive. https://votecalvinball.com/ County Council District 1: Liz Walsh supported CB9 and still supports Sanctuary legislation, and the alternative is Jon Weinstein who voted against it and made CB9 fail. Walsh’s campaign can use some help because running against an incumbent is hard! Weinstein has a reported $83,000 so help out if you can. Janet Siddiqui and Ian Bradley Moller-Knudsen have no immigration stance available.
