The US-China Catholic Association (USCCA) is to hold its conference in Houston this summer (https://www.uscatholicchina.org/conference-30-registration ) We call on the local Bishop Joe S. Vásquez (event Mass presider), the University of Saint Thomas (venue provider), and all faithful to boycott the event organized by this pro-communist organization. Here are some facts:

1 USCCA, in the name of friendship and dialogue, only deals with CCP-sanctioned church and totally ignores the persecuted underground church loyal to Rome.

2 Many speakers, the awardee this year included, are pro-CCP and their topics are in line with the communsit propaganda. Keynote speaker Dr Yang Fenggang, an advocate for religious freedom and prominent Purdue scholar, was suddenly cancelled simply because board chair said “someone” in China ordered him to remove Yang. 

3 USCCA board, without any reason or formal procedure, removed the only Chinese trustee who sympathizes the persecuted Cardinal Zen, Jimmy Lai and the betrayed underground flock in China. 

Every bishop and parish in the USA should be alert to this immoral and misleading organization, a scandal of the Church.
