The owners of Willie T Wright apartments in Newark NJ are slum lords. The apartment are falling apart yet the city has not made the owners or manager fix the dilapidated buildings. The building conditions have worsened and since July 2021, there has been a massive sink hole developing under building 91. It has caused apartments to shift and and the floor in apt apt 1c to cave in while the ceilings in other apartments are detached and structurally unsound. The city housed the residents for a few weeks then stopped paying for the hotel and also stopped pursuing the owners for repairs. The tenants is 1c have been life long residents and are displaced. Other units in the building are uninhabitable  yet still there are not violations. Management and maintenance has entered the residence multiple times since the city deemed it unsafe and stolen property yet no repairs have been made. This petition is to get Council Woman McIver, Mayor Ras J. Baracka and the Newark Department of Code Enforcement to take the lives of all residents seriously not just during election season. Show your support for the tenants of 91 Prince Street everyone deserves safe housing and this is not it!
