Housing Crisis Relief Plan for Baltimore City Renters

Housing Crisis Relief Plan for Baltimore City Renters
The Issue
Businessmen posing as landlords & property management companies, have bought more than 500 and likely more than 1000 homes in Baltimore City. They've rented or assumed management of these homes and defaulted on the mortgages. They are now filing for bankruptcy, and all of their properties will be foreclosed on. Tenants are receiving foreclosure letters while the property managers are claiming to know nothing of them & advising tenants to continue with normal payments. Not giving the renters proper notice or time to relocate safely.
The Baltimore Banner wrote a 23-page article on this housing crisis in October 2025.
Due to the number of families who will be displaced we are requesting a 6-month eviction freeze to give them time to be notified, save funds and move.
