House Homeless Veterans in Hotels Instead of Illegal Immigrants

The Issue

Fresh out of service and battling PTSD, something many might never fully understand, I found myself homeless. It was a time of despair, and the only solace I found wasn't from societal systems meant to aid but from fellow veterans who went out of their way to ensure I didn’t feel forgotten. My story isn't unique. Countless veterans, who once bravely donned the uniform and swore to protect our nation, now face the stark reality of homelessness—left to fend for themselves without adequate support or resources.

Meanwhile, hotels across the country are being occupied by illegal immigrants, receiving the shelter, healthcare, and financial benefits that should rightfully be extended to the heroes who defended our nation. These well-intentioned programs are misdirected, where veterans and their families are left out in the cold, begging for change in a system that seems to have its priorities misplaced. It's time for a shift, focusing on our heroes—our veterans.
This is a call to action, demanding immediate measures to prioritize veterans in housing schemes. By redirecting resources currently used to shelter illegal immigrants, we can offer homeless veterans and their families a dignified place to stay, with access to all the vital benefits they desperately need.

Why should those who didn’t serve our country enjoy better living conditions than those who sacrificed so much for its freedom? Our veterans deserve better housing conditions, mental health programs, medical care, and financial assistance—priorities that can be made a reality with repurposed funds.

Join me in urging our government to repurpose hotel accommodations for homeless veterans. Let’s ensure our heroes receive the support they deserve, creating a safe and dignified environment where they can feel valued and respected. Sign this petition to realign our priorities and give back to those who have given so much for our freedom.

Freedom isn't Free... We paid for it in Blood Sweat and Tears !! .

So You Didn't have to.

Lest We Forget.
