Allow Family Members To Visit Loved Ones Who Are Hospitalized With Non COVID-19 Illness

The Issue

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not allowed to see our loved ones who are in the hospital for non COVID-19 related illnesses. Some of these relatives may be on their last breathes of life and it is not right to have them secluded from the people who care about them the most in this time of need. I AM PROPOSING THAT WE ALLOW FAMILY MEMBERS TO SEE THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO ARE PATIENTS AT ALL HOSPITALS STATEWIDE IN AN EFFORT TO HELP AID THEM IN THEIR HOPES OF RECOVERY. Simple steps should be allowed to be taken, like taking temperatures of family members, wearing ppe equipment, and ideally being tested for COVID-19 prior to visit. I believe that boosting morale of loved ones in ICU and Emergency can really change the outcome of their situation for the better and by immediately implementing these actions we can save lives!

Many people and families are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in unthinkable ways that are only bringing more and more distraught to families facing hardships due to non COVID-19 related illnesses who are stuck in the hospital with other life threatening complications such as cancer and other life threatening diseases.

If you have a family member who is hospitalized due to a non COVID-19 related illness, you should be able to see them, just as you would have been able to see them before this pandemic swept our country. We need to be allowed to have these physical interactions with our loved ones to spread strength from ourselves to them and be there to comfort and re-assure them that things will get better.

I ask if not for you, or someone you know, then for someone you don't know who can benefit from this, and to change the way we are handling taking care of our loved ones to please sign this petition. Let's get this to the medical board of California, and to our president Donald Trump. The medical board executives of California are tagged, lets help this petition find them all!
