85 year old lady facing Eviction by Hornsey Housing Trust from her Home of 33 years

The Issue

Please can you lend your support to help an amazing 85 year old lady in North London.

My aunt is 85 years old and has lived in the same flat in North London for over 33 years. She is a fiercely independent and stubborn but immensely loving and caring lady. She recently fought advanced stage Lymphoma without so much as a grumble and beat the battle. She enjoys each day and lives life to the fullest. This is her HOME in which she has the fondest of memories of family and friends.

The flat is part of Hornsey Housing Trust in North London, a trust that is a not-for-profit organisation which is meant to help individuals live independent lives. The Trust is now planning to sell the property for profit where my aunt has lived for all these years.

She is being forced (with no option to remain) to move to alternative accommodation, which at her age would be heart breaking and detrimental to her health. I am pleading with the Trust in question not to sell, so she can remain in her home of 33 years. Unfortunately, the request has fallen on deaf ears.

"The Trusts statutory requirements is to make reasonable offers. If she declines the offers then the Trust will serve a Notice of Seeking Possession to start court proceedings"

If like me, you believe this is a travesty of social justice, please help my aunt by signing a petition so that her voice is heard and the Trust reconsider their position.

Thanks for your kind support and please forward.
