Safe crossing for Middle Dural Public School

Middle Dural Public School, based in the small semi rural suburb of Middle Dural in Sydney North West. Under Hornsby Shire Council. Located on the very busy Old Northern Road which runs from Baulkham Hills all the way to Wisemans Ferry at the corner of Mid Dural Rd. Situated between an 80 km/hr stretch of road.

Currently Middle Dural Public School has 40 children enrolled in total for years K-6. That's 40 children all together. 40!

There is currently no safe place to cross either Old Northern Rd or Mid Dural Rd. No safety island, no zebra crossing. Nothing. The children CAN NOT walk to school safely. They can not. Speeding cars through 40km/hr school zones, blind corners and young children do not mix. The school NEEDS a safe place to cross.

There is a OOSH located out the other side of ONR that MDPS that is utilised by our students but this means groups of children cross ONR every day.

The school P and C have decided that 2020 is the year that our children WILL get their crossing.  But RMS and Hornsby council are both refusing to come to the aid of our 40 brilliant kids.

You see,  40 students do not warrant the need for a crossing. Yes, you read that right. The lives of our 40 children do not matter as much as the lives of the children at the school down the road who have over 400 enrollments.

Please, sign this petition and get Middle Dural Public School a crossing.
