The University of Michigan and Michigan State has mandated vaccinations for students returning to campus for the Fall 2021 semester and have set the precedent for the state. Vaccinations are an important way to slow the spread of any virus such as the tetanus, Polio, MMR, meningitis, etc, are already mandated to attend Hope College. (https://hope.edu/offices/health-center/immunization.html) This includes the Covid-19 virus. While our Covid-19 response team is excellent, having everyone vaccinated is the best way to protect ourselves from the virus. After three semesters of being online and masked, we would love to have a normal semester on campus and not have the Delta Variant compromise any of our college experiences again. As a Christian college, we believe that our Christian calling is getting vaccinated to care for our neighbors and ourselves. In conclusion, please consider mandating the Covid-19 vaccination. :)
