I’ve received word from the Michigan DNR that they are actively reviewing the proposal for a memorial on North Fox Island. This is a meaningful first step.
This effort has also gained the support of a survivor who has privately shared with me the unimaginable abuse he endured there. His courage in speaking up is a reminder of why this memorial matters.
In addition, Catherine Broad, an investigative journalist and long-time advocate, has voiced her support — as have senior members of law enforcement who specialize in sex crimes against children. Together, they are helping ensure that the victims of North Fox Island are not forgotten.
Thanks to your dedication, this petition has reached 77 supporters out of 673 views — nearly 1 in 9 people signing compared to the Change.org average of 1 in 25. This shows how deeply the cause resonates.
Please keep sharing the petition. Once we reach 100 supporters, Change.org will send a personal notification directly to the decision makers. Every signature gets us closer to making sure these boys are finally acknowledged with dignity.
Thank you for your compassion, your voice, and your willingness to stand with survivors.
Respectfully,
Dylan Harrington
Pasted below is the e-mail I received from the DNR:
"Hello Mr. Harrington,
We received your email and according to my counterparts in Wildlife, it sounds like someone is already looking in to your request.
On a personal note - I had not heard about the camp or the unimaginable crimes and abuse, my heart goes out to those victims.
Take good care,
Kasey Ann Cline
Cadillac District Supervisor"
