The Chief Justice of India TS Thakur on 24th April 2016 broke down to tears during his speech at Joint Conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts in Delhi.He said that criticism of judiciary for delay is unfair. But what about the preference being given by the Judiciary to non judicial matters and overlooking the contempt of the judgments of Constitutional Bench by the Secretaries of various Departments. In Ishrat Jahan Case now the then home secretary G K Pillai is saying that the decision to change the affidavit was taken at the political level. Can he absolve from his responsibility. Tommorow the Secretaries of Revenue, DOPT, UPSC may allege that they dishonoured M Nagraj & Ors (2006) under pressure of Politicians. The role of secretaries must be examined in all such cases. Action be taken to prevent the exploitation of the General Category Candidates who are being oppressed and the Judiciary and Executive is sleeping.
