Despite Raavan being the enemy that had sequestrated his wife, Shri Ram said "Speak to him in such a way, that the outcome is good for me, and is equally good for him". ****************************************************************************** In today's world where people go to discussions and negotiations with arms concealed under their garments, it is instructive to ponder on the "aayan" of our Shri Ram. (Aayan: way, manner, walking a path) The Hindu world celebrated Ram Nawmi. The guys wore a tika, the girls made it "indian wear day", some a Ram Bhajan on stage.. And today, everyone went on as usual. Girlfriends found another boyfriend on facebook(and vice versa), divorcees found another new lover/flirt/time-pass, destroyed another marriage or killed the feelings of another person. A new Mauritian blue film was probably made somewhere, to appear next week. Politicians threw insults at each other while their supporters cheered on social media. Those that pose as Scholars,religious leaders or social workers have affairs and condone backstabbing and conspiracy. People that have never learnt a word of Sanskrit and said there is nothing in Hinduism, suddenly found humanity by converting to one of the numerous proselytizing religions and *discovered* that alcohol, drugs, marijuana and smoking is bad.. (one of the tenets of Dharma is Indriya Nigrah, control of the senses). On the other hand, we passed a new milestone of 750 signatures, and at the time of writing 773 people support the introduction of Sanskrit Language in the Mauritian Curriculum. But still, are we doing enough to ensure that 100 years from now there will be an educational system in Mauritius that will ensure the correct Hindu(and Human) values are passed down to Hindus? I put this question to all our supporters. And again, I invite you to keep sharing this post on your walls.
